I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz, or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers; thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance, risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, not you, so close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
Patch Adams Poem: Sonnet 17 by Pablo Neruda
Before love was romance, it was relationship.
Written in the stars.
Held in the land.
Passed through generations not as words, but as instinct.
Astrology shows us this clearly — nothing in the cosmos exists alone.
Planets move by relationship, by gravity, by pull.
Love is the same force: unseen, constant, shaping everything it touches. Across Indigenous cultures globally, love has never been separate from life.
To care for land is love.
To protect children is love.
To honour elders, community, and self is love.
There is no hierarchy. Only connection.
Love moves through elements and seasons.
Sometimes it steadies like earth.
Sometimes it flows like water.
Sometimes it ignites like fire or speaks through air.
Every expression is sacred.
The way you love yourself sets the tone for how love meets you.
Not as reward — but as reflection.
What you tend within becomes the field around you.
Strip everything back — the roles, the noise, the stories —
and what remains is not emptiness.
It is love.
Moving through friendship, family, intimacy, community, and becoming.
On Love Day, we don’t search for love.
We remember we are already living inside it.
While love can feel fated, it is also forged - a quiet accumulation of choices made again and again. This is the year of conscious devotion: choosing to break old cycles, choosing integrity over intensity, choosing safety, presence, and truth over chaos dressed as passion.
Love arrives not just through destiny, but through where you place your energy - the people you invest in, the boundaries you hold, the rhythms you honour, the ways you show up when no one is watching.
Each decision becomes an invocation, calling in the archetype of love you desire - Sacred Guard, Soft Refuge, Kindred Fire, Sacred Union. Love is not something that happens to you; it is something you choose, embody, and live.
And through those conscious and unconscious choices, aligned with your values and self-worth, you don’t just find love - you become it.
